At the invitation of Jia Wei from our Department of Intelligent Science and Technology, at 9:30 am on November 6, 2023, Researcher Shan Shiguang from the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences gave an academic report titled 'Emotion and Psychological Perception Technology Based on Computer Vision' to the teachers and students of our college in the fifth conference room on the first floor of the Science and Education Building A at the Jade Lake Campus. This report was chaired by Professor Jia Wei, and more than 50 teachers and students from relevant fields of the college attended the report.

At the beginning of the seminar, Jia Wei warmly welcomed the visit of Researcher Shan Shiguang and introduced the teachers who participated in this seminar in turn. Researcher Shan Shiguang's report focused on the research progress of the VIPL research group in the Institute of Computing in the past two years in areas such as facial expression recognition, facial action (AU) detection, gaze estimation and tracking. Combining his many years of research experience, he brought a wonderful report that was easy to understand from various aspects such as research background, application demand, and method summary. In addition, Researcher Shan Shiguang also deeply reflected on some problems existing in the field of computer vision, emphasizing the importance of continuous innovation and progress. In the interactive Q&A session, the teachers and students who attended the meeting asked questions enthusiastically based on the confusion they encountered during their research. Researcher Shan Shiguang patiently answered them one by one, and had a deeper exchange with everyone.
